Embrace Multicultural Mental Health
Embrace Multicultural Mental Health, delivered through Mental Health Australia (MHA) in partnership with the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) and the National Ethnic Disability Alliance (NEDA), provides a national focus on mental health and suicide prevention for people from multicultural, migrant and refugee backgrounds. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, Embrace is committed to making mental health support not only widely available but also tailored to the diverse cultural backgrounds of individuals.
The Embrace project offers a national platform for mental health and suicide prevention services to assess and enhance their support for multicultural communities. It also empowers individuals and families to embrace mental health and wellbeing by linking them to vital services, information, and resources in culturally accessible formats. Factsheets on finding mental health support and understanding mental health concerns are available in multiple languages on the website: https://embracementalhealth.org.au/index.php/.
NEDA is proud to be a key partner in this important initiative. We believe that strong, connected communities are the foundation of mental health and wellbeing. Through Embrace, NEDA brings a vital focus on the experiences and needs of people with disability from multicultural, migrant, and refugee backgrounds. Together, we are breaking down barriers, amplifying community voices, and creating a future where mental health care is welcoming, empowering, and inclusive for all.
