National Disability Research Partnership Event

NEDA attended the National Disability Research Partnership 2026 Research Funding Round launch: a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when disability-led research is properly resourced and celebrated.

As a proud recipient of NDRP’s Round 1 funding, the event felt especially meaningful. NEDA has partnered with the Australian Association of Gerontology on the project: “Safety for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities in Aged Care” co-designing research on how policies and practices affect the safety and wellbeing of people with disability from CALD background as they age.

Round 1 supported 15 co-design projects on disability safety totalling $900K, funded through Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031. Seeing that investment grow into a second round is exactly the momentum this space needs. We’re excited to see what Round 2 brings and deeply committed to ensuring CALD communities remain at the centre in the disability research agenda.
