What is the Inclusive Arts Project?

The National Ethnic Disability Alliance is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to run the Inclusive Arts Project across the ACT, NSW, WA, QLD and Victoria.

What the project will do

The aim of the project is to increase the inclusion and participation of People with Disability from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds in mainstream arts programs through:

  1. Designing and delivering an Inclusive Arts Practice Framework
  2. Building Capacity in community art centres and collectives through training and support in the implementation of the Framework
  3. Providing grant funding support to community art centres and collectives to implement the framework in the delivery of Inclusive arts workshops and showcases / exhibitions.

Project guidance

The Advisory Group for the Inclusive Arts Project was established to provide direction, advice and oversight for the delivery of the Inclusive Arts Project. The Advisory Group is made up of a diverse group of artists, curators, community arts workers and advocates who identify as people with disability from CALD backgrounds, or carers of people with disability.

Across the first year of the project, the Advisory Group has provided guidance, direction and lived experience expertise to the project team; supporting the co-design and co-creation elements of the project.  There is an Advisory Group member representative for each State and Territory where NEDA is delivering this project.
